Welcome to Woodingdean Medical Centre

We are a GP doctor's surgery serving the residents of Woodingdean, Ovingdean and from roads in Rottingdean north of Meadow Parade.

We offer all core General Medical Services funded by the NHS as well as a number of private services and clinics. As well as our three principal General Practitioners we have a number of other healthcare staff located at or attached to the surgery including practice nurses, health visitors, physiotherapists, midwives, audiologists, podiatrists and dermatologists.

At Woodingdean Medical Centre we are very proud of the service we provide to our registered patients. We aim to practice modern, high quality and innovative care for all of our patients and firmly believe that all patients have a right to equal access to medical care.

Due to the escalating situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are asking that you DO NOT attend the surgery unless you have a pre-booked appointment.

If you do attend the surgery without a pre-booked appointment, you will not be allowed to enter the building and will be asked to make a telephone appointment. Our front doors are currently closed and you will need to ring our door bell to speak with a member of staff to obtain access for your appointment.

Our administration team are working hard and will answer any queries you may have over the phone or offer a telephone triage appointment.

Prescriptions can be posted through the letterbox, ordered online via or via Prescriptions Ordering Direct (POD) on 0808 1647 678.

The health and safety of our patients and our staff is our number one priority and we ask you are mindful of the pressures the NHS are facing as a whole.

We thank you for your understanding,

Woodingdean Medical Centre Team

Like the common cold, most coronavirus infection is thought to come from close contact (2 meters) with a person  who coughs or sneezes or hand contact. A person can also be infected by touching contaminated surfaces if they do not wash their hands.

The most important thing you can do to help stop Coronavirus spreading is:
• Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Patient Participation Group Appeal

We would like to thank our Patient Participation Group (PPG) for organising  our recent appeal for a new ECG machine. We have reached our appeal target and will be purchasing  a new machine! This could not have been achieved without the kindness and generosity of our local businesses and our Community especially the anonymous individual that made a large donation.

The Patient Participation Group will be launching a new appeal soon!

NB If you would like to be part of our enthusiastic PPG and help support and influence the effectiveness and quality of our Practice, do please see details on how to join our PPG on the 'Patient Group' tab on our website.
